So the local auto wholesaler (RED FLAG #1) has on the lot a 1962 (RED FLAG #2) Unimog with a canvas roof and what appears to be a camper on the back.
As I was driving past and not willing to defy traffic to look at it, I didn't get a price, but just as a cursory point of information, should I be interested in this thing? Is having portal axles and a bitchin truck/tractor/thing worth trying to keep a 50 year-old piece of agricultural equipment running?
Pic is not of the exact vehicle, but same configuration.

They are relatively simply to keep going, but they aren't highway vehicles or anything close to it. I know people who've owned...and sold mogs. They are great if they never need to see much pavement, but you can't go anywhere in them
